So after 5 days cooling our jets while our windows were defogged, we headed north to visit our youngest son, and his dog Liberty. We reserved a site at Camp Blanding, which is about 16 miles from our son’s home in Green Cove Springs. This was our first visit to Camp Blanding, and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at our site.
Very nice large full hook up 50 amp site right next to the lake. The per day fee was $24.75 if you have no pets, I think the pet fee was $3 a day for each, a maximum of two.
We got to spend some time with our son, went to supper one evening at Whitey’s Fish Camp. Excellent meal and we tried ‘Gator for the first time. It was tasty.
My son & I got to have some Cigar time on Sunday, we found a friendly cigar bar not too far from his home. Johnson’s Fleming Island Cigars had a fair selection of stogies, several of the NFL games on, not to mention they had Yuengling 16oz beers on ice for $2.
