Unfortunately, because of the reservation system Thousand Trails utilizes, basically, they pretend all sites are of equal size and allow folks to park on any available site, often resulting in a 12′ rig parking on a 60′ site, this process leaves a lot to be desired. When we arrived at the campground, we checked in at the front office, they claimed to have 2 empty sites large enough for our 43′ coach. The Campground Ranger actually claimed one pull-thru site was large enough for us to leave our TOAD hooked up. However, after driving around the EXTREMELY dusty back roads of the park to locate the supposedly massive site, neither of the two “large” sites large enough for Ike, let alone allowing the TOAD to be hooked up. Eventually, we ended up parking in the office parking lot with a 30 amp hook-up. Okay for one night, but not exactly what we had hoped for, Thousand Trails continues to disappoint us.
