The Kreher RV Park is a nice 31 site city-operated RV campground, although, as with many of the northern campgrounds it does not have sewer at the site, only a dump station. It is also a first-come-first-serve campground, with many multi-month residents who take the water view sites early in the camping season. We stayed there from 20 to 27 July 2017. It has a small park with playgrounds, restrooms, and showers. No laundry, however, a nice public laundromat is about a half mile away. We enjoyed our time there in spite of the adjacent SUPERFUND cleanup site. We learned about the site after we arrived, it seemed to be in operation 7 days a week, closed off part of the shoreline walkway, and occasionally it put off some fairly nasty odors from the onsite incinerator.
Also adjacent to the park is the docking facility for a Great Lakes research boat, the USGS R/V KIYI.
