Another Thousand Trails Disappointment

So after our time at Magne Shade, we had a reservation at the Forest Lake Thousand Trails campground in Advanced NC (we’re Elite Members) which is about 10 miles from Magne Shade in Mocksville, NC. Unfortunately, because of the reservation system Thousand Trails utilizes, basically, they pretend all sites are of equal size and allow folks to park on any available site, often resulting in a 12′ rig parking on a 60′ site, this process leaves a lot to be desired. When we arrived at the campground, we checked in at the front office, they claimed to have 2 empty […]

A Stop at Magne Shade for a Magnet Tune-up

We’ve had our Magne-Shade shades for a little over a year. They make a significant difference in the amount of solar heat within the front of our coach, even tho we had the interior shades. Additionally,  I like the ease that they are placed onto the windows. We have the windshield shade, the driver’s side window shade. However, since installing them I’d struggle with the magnets becoming unstuck from the glass. In particular the large upper corner magnets on the windshield. Therefore, I’d made an appointment with Roger at Magne Shade to see if he could rectify the problem. Roger […]

Our First Stop

We decided to make our first day a short drive, so we stopped at the Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista, VA. It was about 4-5 miles from Interstate 81.   The campground has two sections, one wooded and one in a large “Rally Field”. We stayed on the Rally Field, easy access 50 Amp with Water and a dump station. They accept Passport so our fee was about $19 for the night. We went into town for some Mexican Food at Don Tequila at 2255 Beech Ave, very good and reasonably priced. Nice campground for a day or two stay […]

On our way….

After 3+ years of planning, purchasing our motorhome 2 years ago, selling or giving away most of our “stuff” as of 30 October 2016 we’ve departed our home of the last 23+ years and headed south for this winter.
